Entry-Level Commercial Associate, Health Care
The Role in Brief:
The Health Care Commercial Associates serve as the operational hub for our research, technology, and consulting sales business, integral to our mission to “Make Health Care Better…and Communities Stronger.” Associates are aligned with a subject matter expert, and together the small team manages all new business pursuits within their suite of products and territory. They are responsible for driving strategy to source pursuits with leading health systems, connecting with Senior Executives at member-organizations to schedule sales meetings, and optimizing team interactions from initiation to contract.
Associates can expect to develop deep technical expertise in the health care industry and commercial practices. The cross-sectional and relationship-driven nature of this work allows Associates unparalleled access to other divisions of Advisory Board, such as Product Delivery, Marketing, and Account Management. This uniquely enables Associates to launch their careers throughout the broader organization.
Specific Responsibilities:
Revenue Generation (60%)
- Responsible for recommending and driving outreach strategy with C-Suite Executives related to new business generation
- Communicate with prospective members using creative outreach methods via email and phone
- Schedule meetings for senior team members to achieve weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals
- Support the entire journey of new business cultivation from inception to contract signage
Operational Support (40%)
- Form cross-departmental relationships to garner insight into members’ strategic priorities
- Track and respond to member requests, gathering insights critical to new business development strategies
- Manage calendaring, logistics, and administrative responsibilities for member interactions and internal cross-departmental meetings
- Maintain integrity of internal databases to track key performance metrics and member interactions
- Prepare materials for member interactions, such as agendas, decks, proposals, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Excellent academic record
- Must possess at least two of the following:
- Leadership experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience working in a team environment
- Sales or fundraising experience
- Experience in an office setting

- Ability to communicate effectively by email and phone with Executives
- Ability to successfully overcome challenges or obstacles
- Experience thinking through problems creatively
- Attention to detail
- Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities
- Ability to take initiative on projects and through customer service interactions
