This internship is designed for a student interested in education, instructional design, and translating complex technology into accessible learning experiences. The intern will help design the foundation of a digital scent technology certification program.
Key Responsibilities
Establish an educational framework and recommended certification pathway for online, asynchronous learning in Digital Scent Technology
- Research how sound engineering is taught to game developers and how that could translate to scent engineering
- Interview game developers to understand what they want and need to know about scent
- Outline curriculum modules and lesson concepts
- Assess the current scientific understanding of scent and how it relates to scent engineering, and turn it into accessible language
- Identify pathways for executing a certification program

Learn how new technical fields formalize education and credentials
- Gain experience in instructional and curriculum design
- Build cross-functional collaboration skills
Qualifications
Undergraduate student in Education, Sciences (Biology, Neuroscience, Psychology, etc.), or related field
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable synthesizing complex ideas

- Report on sound engineering curriculum and how concepts may translate to scent engineering
- Draft certification framework and curriculum outline
- Sample lesson or module descriptions
- Final presentation with recommendations for next steps
