Vermont Innovation Summer 2026

This opportunity is part of Middlebury College’s Vermont Innovation Summer cohort program, sponsored by the Innovation Hub. This program supports students working with companies across Burlington’s innovation ecosystem. Vermont Innovation Summer internships will run from June 8—July 31, 2026.  Students will receive a $5000 funding award through Innovation Hub at Middlebury College.  For more information about Vermont Innovation Summer, please contact Dana Anderson at danaa@middlebury.edu.

This position comes with access to affordable, fee-based dormitory housing through Champlain College in Burlington. More information will be available in March upon the intern’s offer of employment, however students will need to accept housing by April 1 in order to secure their spot.  ELIGIBILITY: Interns must have at least a semester left at Middlebury following the conclusion of the internship to qualify. This position is not open to graduating seniors.

 

Position Title: Investing and Operations Intern 

Position Type: Internship, ~30 hours/week

We are seeking a sharp, analytical, adaptable, and curious undergraduate intern to join our team this summer. This role will offer the unique opportunity to get an inside view of an early-stage venture capital firm in our first year of operations. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to investment due diligence and fund administration/operations and have many opportunities to network with mission-driven operators and impact investors.

  • Intellectually curious, with a genuine interest in getting exposure to early-stage venture investing and gender equity/social impact. .

 

What you will do: 

  • Investment support: 
    • Capture notes and key takeaways on diligence calls 
    • Take on discrete diligence tasks, such as analyzing market trends, technologies, competitive set
    • Assist in deal flow sourcing and  deal funnel management via Hub.
    • Support in preparation of materials for  investment committee meeting 
  • Operational Management: . 
    • Liaise with back-end fund administrator (Decile Hub) to ensure timely management of investment and LP pipelines in CRM tool. 
    • Handle calendar coordination for external calls and meetings. Capture meeting notes and circulate key takeaways.   
    • Support Chief of Staff/Managing Partner in liaising with our back-end fund operations administrator to support on capital calls and reporting

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of startups, venture capital, and/or the women’s economy 
  • Exceptional project management, analytical, problem-solving ability
  • Can-do attitude, eagerness to learn, ability to take initiative without consistent supervision 
  • Major in economics, mathematics, social sciences or related analytical discipline
  • Previous work experience in a professional setting

  • Location of Work: hybrid, required in office at Hula Tues-Thurs 
  • Work Expectations: ~30+ hours/week for 8 weeks.  
  • Employment Duration: June 8th - July 31st, 2026
