We are looking for an independent and highly motivated individual to join our research program focused on mammalian regenerative biology. The Lehoczky Lab studies mouse digit tip regeneration and is presently focused on determining the molecular pathways necessary for this process. Qualifications:  B.A./B.S. in Biology or related field.  Previous research laboratory experience is expected.

 

Duties:

The candidate is expected to independently carry out the daily activities of the laboratory, which include:

  • Performing a wide range of experimental techniques involving molecular biology, tissue histology, and cell culture. 
  • Troubleshooting and documenting laboratory protocols and experiments.
  • Lab maintenance tasks, including ordering, equipment maintenance, and lab reagent preparation.
  • Basic mouse colony maintenance tasks, including genotyping and setting up crosses.

 

Required Skills:

  • Previous laboratory experience in molecular biology, genetics, and mouse husbandry is recommended. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to multi-task, think critically and work independently.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills. Demonstrates the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, and can clearly write about and present their work.
  • Two year (or more) commitment strongly preferred.
