EastView at Middlebury - Strategic Initiatives Internship
EastView at Middlebury, a 99-home nonprofit senior living community located next to Porter Medical Center, is seeking a Middlebury College student to assist us with exciting research that could lead to new meaningful service offerings as well as generate new sources of revenue. We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a talented Middlebury student to actively engage with us this summer in social and market research, financial planning, and economic analysis. This internship would give a rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior the opportunity to work directly with EastView’s CEO and Finance Director, as well as the Board’s Finance Committee to advance strategic initiatives pertinent to our mission.
We are seeking an intern with strong research and analytic skills to team with EastView’s Leadership team to advance our strategic plan. In the summer of 2018, EastView enters its 7th year of operation and the focus of the Board and leadership team has shifted from a start-up model to that of stable operations involving consistent delivery of high quality services for our residents and a work environment that supports our talented and compassionate workforce.
What might this internship involve? Our current ideas of focus areas include:
• conducting research pertaining to Baby Boomer retirement trends and exploring opportunities for additional service options at EastView (and possibly collaborative ventures with Middlebury College) and potential new revenue streams that incorporate these trends
• exploring the feasibility of a daycare center on the EastView campus to serve Middlebury College, Porter Medical Center and EastView workforce families
• researching entry fee refund models of senior living communities across the US and the financial implications to EastView and future residents of incorporating on or more of these models
• being part of the team that reports these findings to EastView’s Finance Committee

This internship is eligible for summer on-campus housing at a cost of $150 per week for room and board.
