Eagle's Nest Camp is a coed camp over 90 years old located in the lush mountains of Western North Carolina. Eagle's Nest provides a strong, nurturing community where campers ages 6-17 are treated with respect, honor, and compassion. Campers have the opportunity to participate in 1-3 week long sessions which emphasize the wilderness, arts, and community. Teens can participate in extended wilderness treks that include hiking and climbing in Maine, canoeing in the South East, exploring the culture of Italy, and hiking 100 miles on the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina. Our mission is experiential education for young people, promoting the natural world and the betterment of human character.
Eagle's Nest is seeking an EMT to staff our health care facility for the summer of 2018.
Responsibilities: Working with a Registered Nurse or Physician's Assistant, the EMT is responsible for providing daily and first aid care to approximately 140 campers and 60 staff, and for working with wilderness staff to manage first aid kits. Staff will live on the campus in beautiful Pisgah Forest.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of current EMT-Basic certification, and, if certified outside of North Carolina, must be able to get reciprocal certification in this state. Wilderness EMT certification is strongly preferred.
