PAHO Internship Opportunity -IES
The Pan American Health Organization’s (PAHO’s) Office of Internal Oversight and Evaluation Services is recruiting a student intern enrolled in a graduate degree program who would like to gain experience in health and development or program evaluation by working part-time during the academic year or full-time during the summer. The requirements of the internship in addition to those listed below are:
1. English and Spanish language skills
2. Ability to work at least 20 hours per week for a minimum of 2 months and maximum of 6 months.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
Responsibilities include assisting with evaluation report abstracts, newsletters, preparing evaluation guidelines, and similar tasks. Interns may come from a variety of disciplines including any of the social sciences, or public health, international development, journalism, public administration or public policy, and they must have an interest in evaluation and/or public health. May coordinate for academic credit.
Applicants must meet the following PAHO requirements for interns:
- Minimum age of 20 years old.
- Enrolled in a course of study relevant to PAHO/WHO's work at a university or equivalent institution leading to a graduate or post-graduate degree (must submit proof).
- Knowledge of program evaluation (desirable).
- Have strong writing, research, and organizational skills to support technical cooperation efforts.
- Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
- Strong team orientation.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Produce and deliver quality results.
- Able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Have health insurance coverage (must submit proof).
