Corporate Development Intern (Summer 2019)
Rocket Software is seeking an enthusiastic intern who is interested in the process of technology mergers & acquisitions. This position will provide research and analytical support for Rocket’s Corporate Development team. This position is ideal for candidates looking for a career in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or other high finance professions or is an opportunity for Computer Science and Engineering majors to explore a different avenue with their analytical backgrounds.
In this role, the intern will function as a member of the Corporate Development team working on several projects during the summer. The projects will include supporting on-going acquisition initiatives, integration efforts, and other special projects.
Depending on priorities during the summer, the intern will be expected to assist with the following activities:
· Source new potential acquisitions through industry research and company research
· Develop an understanding of the landscape of selected industries
· Use deal pipeline tools to develop better reporting
· Perform analysis and modeling to evaluate business scenarios
· Acquisition integration, including due diligence, risk assessment, and project management
Required Skills
The ideal candidate would be expected to have the following skills:
· Currently enrolled in a B.A. or B.S program with a major in Business, Finance, or a related discipline
· Well-rounded inter-personal skill set with the capacity to build relationships with internal stakeholders
· Ability to learn quickly, attention to detail and strong organizational skills
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Comfortable asking for help when necessary and working collaboratively
