Performance Improvement Facilitator II

Facilitate Teams:
• Independently facilitates large and small cross-functional improvement teams
• Effectively uses relationships to facilitate change
Apply PI Tools & Methodologies:
• Applies broad range of PI tools and methodologies successfully (e.g. Lean and Six Sigma)
• Effectively utilizes problem-solving techniques
Apply Rigorous Analytic Skills:
• Supports health system monitoring efforts (e.g. Dashboards)
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of qualitative and quantitative statistics
• Identifies, develops, and implements key metrics to measure process, performance, and opportunity
• Assures integrity of data sets and data elements through routine and systematic procedures
• Develops alternative solutions to overcome data limitations
• Demonstrates the use of advanced statistics (e.g. linear regression models)
Effective Communication:
• Provides concise reports of activities and results to support decision-making
• Demonstrates persistent and persuasive communication (written and verbal) with all health system employees and medical staff members
• Prepares and presents reports to all levels of management, including senior management
Project Management:
• Creates and executes project work plans
• Independently prioritizes work
• Supports multiple projects and meets deadlines
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of project and scope
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and accurate
Subject Matter Expert:
• Quickly acquires subject knowledge
• Researches best practices and regulatory guidelines from a variety of sources
• Understands and applies PI methodology to government, regulatory, and licensing requirements and organizational bylaws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures
• Conducts just-in-time and planned training (e.g. Safety Fair and NEO)
• Maintains strong knowledge in PI methodology, tools, and theory
Focus on meeting the needs of internal and external customers:
• Seek and respond to customer feedback, and maintains effective relationships with customers
Reflect the mission, vision, and values of CSMC:
• Adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program
• Complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred; coursework in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, business, science, engineering) required. A combination of education/experience will be considered.
Coursework or background in statistics is required
Masters Degree Preferred
 
Experience:
Three (3) years of progressive responsibility in the application of process improvement and statistical process control methodologies and independent facilitation of process improvement teams required; two (2) years of prior work experience in an acute health care setting highly desired
Knowledge of health care regulations, accreditation, and licensing requirements required
Excellent knowledge and understanding of advanced statistics (e.g. linear regression models)
Must have excellent problem solving skills
Must have excellent analytical skills
Knowledge and skills using PC/Macintosh applications, especially spreadsheet programs; experience with Minitab or other statistical program preferred
Must have dynamic personality and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
Must be willing to work both collaboratively and independently within a deadline-driven environment
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to quickly develop and maintain productive relationships with team members
Ability to complete work assignments, accurately, timely, and with minimal supervision
Ability to projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct
Ability to work with staff at all levels of the Hospital
Ability to adhere to established Hospital, State, and Federal confidentiality policies
Must be self-motivated and able to adapt to evolving business needs
 
Physical Demands:
Routine office environment with prolonged sitting and use of keyboard/monitor
Able to travel to various locations on campus to meet with other personnel as requested.
