Research Assistant; Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies

The American Enterprise Institute, a leading nonprofit public policy research organization, seeks a full-time research assistant to work with five visiting scholars in the Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies department whose research focuses on a range of issues related to American political thought, history, institutions, public policy, culture, religion, and family.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide research and administrative assistance to these visiting scholars and to assist in ongoing communications responsibilities related to their individual projects and events. Particular research focus will be given to 18th- and 19th-century political thought, moralism in politics, modern American life, and the American republican tradition. Other duties include scheduling, trip planning, record keeping, financial tracking, and copy editing.

This position requires excellent research and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well under deadline. A demonstrated interest in the areas of study, strong writing skills, and the ability to multitask are also essential.
