Summer Scientist Intern, Content Science

Position Summary:

The content science team builds data science products and services for content creators such as artists, podcast and talk show hosts, curators, and programmers. We create the best-in-class curated audio catalog and programs, promote audio content, programs, and live events, and build personalized listening experiences for talk shows and podcasts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute work to solve a broad set of problems ranging from enhancing our content understanding for our audio content to building recommendation algorithms to power our next generation of personalization services.
- Perform other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Minimum Qualifications:
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be enrolled in a college, university or trade school to qualify. Recent graduates may also be considered.
- Pursuing a PhD degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics or a related quantitative field (ideally 1-2 years away from graduation).
- Demonstrated expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, recommendation systems, and/or statistics.
Requirements and General Skills:
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with the Hadoop technology stack.
- Publications at machine learning conferences/journals.
- Expertise in machine learning and statistics, solid programming skills, outstanding communication skills, and ability to work in a team with a diverse skill set.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with common machine learning libraries (e.g., sk-learn, TensorFlow).
- Proficiency with Python or Java.
- Experience with Spark and Scala.
- Experience with SQL (or proprietary equivalent).
