Software Engineer

Job Location: Billerica, MA, USA

  • Provide programming skills and expertise in the design and development of Enterprise Architecture projects: System Integrations, Analytical and Metrics Clinical Data Warehouse, Management of Production Release processes
  • Participate in requirement reviews 
  • Independently implement solutions following provided design blueprints, using established frameworks and design patterns, adhering to requirements, standards, and functional specifications
  • Responsible for unit testing of all code produced using preferred unit test frameworks and technologies
  • Maintain solution code in version control system
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation
  • Responsible for learning and participating in all phases of software development life cycle in our fast-paced and agile environment
  • Learn and adhere to SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures) as required for highly-regulated environment of clinical research organization
  • Research on-going industry/software development trends
  • Learn and adopt best practices, procedures, and concepts
  • Participate in the resolution of Level 3 production support cases

Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience). CS expertise – algorithms, data structures, operating systems
  • 0-3 years of work experience
  • Understanding of database technologies (preferably Oracle), relational and dimensional database models. Thorough orientation in DBMS concepts, SQL/PLSQL/T-SQL, stored procedures, and awareness of schema and data optimization principles
  • Familiarity with Data Integration designs and Data Warehouse architectures
  • Demonstrate ability to solve problems and think logically and analytically
  • Knowledge of any one of the commonly used programming languages (preferably Java)
  • Experience of any one of the commercially available databases (such as Oracle, DB2 or MS SQL server)
  • Knowledge of data representation formats (such as XML, XSD, XSLT, and JSON)
  • Experience working with integration software such as Informatica suite is a plus
  • Linux Shell Scripting and/or Windows PowerShell scripting is desirable
  • Understanding of modern data management and data processing technologies such as NoSQL and in-memory databases, Teradata, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Graph DB
  • Familiarity with Cloud-based computing and data storage services, such as Microsoft Azure (preferred) and Amazon Web Services, is a plus
