Digital Marketing Internship in Healthcare: Photography

MassGeneral Hospital for Children seeks interns who wish to expand their knowledge of digital marketing in a large, complex healthcare organization.

Qualifications: Excellent photography skills; we'll teach you the rest, but we are looking for top-notch photographers.

Academic majors: Photography, Journalism, Visual & Media Arts, Communication Studies, Marketing Communication, and related majors

Commitment: Minimum of six months (weekly time commitment is negotiable and may vary)

Practicum: Develop photo guidelines and styles for www.massgeneralforchildren.org, and schedule and shoot photos in clinical and research areas of the hospital. Get images of clinical services, research labs, and doctors ranked in Google and other search engines.

Reading assignments:
  • The Art of SEO, 3rd edition: "Optimizing for Image Search," pages 629-634; "Understanding Content Marketing Basics," pages 409-428
  • Other as assigned

Learning outcomes:
  • Demonstrate photography and graphic design skills in a professional setting.
  • Apply professional communication and teamwork skills in working with clients, including hospital leaders and marketing professionals.
  • Apply existing style guidelines and brand standards to a project.
  • Create new style guidelines.
