Exhibit Design and Fabrication

The Montshire has approximately 15,000 square feet of exhibit space, inside and outside, filled with interactive science exhibits. The exhibits department creates exhibits that are meant to appeal to children and families as well as adults. They are designed for visitors with a wide variety of knowledge and life experiences, and for a range of cognitive and physical abilities. Exhibits cover many facets of the physical and natural sciences, with a special focus on local and native flora and fauna.

Interns are exposed to almost every aspect of exhibit production, including research, design, and production of exhibits, installation of any scheduled traveling exhibitions, and day-to-day exhibit repair and maintenance. Exhibit interns also participate in the exhibit planning and evaluation process.

Candidates should have an interest in science, good manual skills, and basic computer skills; familiarity with the Adobe graphic design suite of software is helpful. In addition, imagination, a sense of humor, and an enjoyment of problem solving are necessary.

Interested students please visit our website at: https://www.montshire.org/about/join-our-team/internships, and follow the directions for the application process according to the department in which you may be interested.
