Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty

About Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty

4.2 million Texans are food insecure, including nearly 1 out of every 4 children. Addressing hunger is complex, and knowing how to engage is difficult. We all have some of the tools necessary to alleviate hunger, but none of us have all the tools. This is where the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty comes in. We conduct university-based research to determine what interventions work, and provides the support and expertise to coordinate work in communities and put those programs into action.

BCHP has offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Lubbock, McAllen, San Angelo, and Waco.

AmeriCorp Summer VISTA

June 2018 - July 2018 Dallas, TX
“What I liked was the opportunity to make positive macro level impacts in the fight against food insecurity and child hunger. I was able to participate in an evaluation program to help promote and improve summer meal sites, that will hopefully become a national program someday. I liked that I could help build a better foundation in this fight, and be an advocate.”
