What I liked

The first three months were great because I was exposed to many different segments of the fintech and financial tracking business managed by my boss. In addition, I was given different assignments that covered many different scopes of the business. Going into the fall, I was exposed even more to different aspects of the work we do. I really liked how I was able to learn how eVestment and Solovis (both fintech firms) work together and how they both operate with Nasdaq.

What I wish was different

If anything had to be different, I wish I had the opportunity to begin the job in person. Given that my team works in a smaller, close-knit office, I believe I would have excelled even more in that kind of a situation, as opposed to starting my internship on Zoom, and continuing it via tele-work this fall.

Advice

It is okay if you don't know something right from the start. Instead of stressing about it, do as much research as you can during off hours, and come prepared to every meeting. Always try to stay one step ahead of your supervisor or boss by trying to predict what needs to be done next.
