HubSpot

Marketing Intern

June - August 2021 • Boston, MA

What I liked

My managers were great, working on a team and meeting with my managers regularly was very effective. Everyone was really nice and helpful with any questions!

What I wish was different

I wish there were a little more internal intern events so we could get to know each other, but overall the ones we had were great.

Advice

Talk to people. Network, get to know your coworkers, managers, and fellow interns.

Inbound Sales Intern

June - August 2020 • Cambridge, MA

What I liked

The culture was amazing! People were so willing to network with me, help me out when things weren't going the way I hoped, and are so supportive! You are encouraged to learn as much as you can and to fail fast and learn from them. It's very fun as well with intern specific events, watercoolers and perks.

What I wish was different

I wish the project was a bit more structured and organized, though it taught us a lot in terms of improvisation, sales ops and working together as a team in a remote environment in the midst of a global pandemic.

Advice

A piece of advice I would share about this experience is to not be afraid to speak up and take initiative! HubSpot treats their interns just as normal employees and they are well integrated into the working environment. Take some time to meet other HubSpotters and schedule 1 coffee chat every week or two. Try starting a new project. Speak up when you can see something to be improved.

Accounting Intern

January 2019 • Cambridge, MA

What I liked

Culture is amazing. Very inclusive team with a large focus on helping accelerate my personal growth. Beautiful office with many perks like free coffee, beer, and smoothies. I got the chance to make an impact on a domestic and global level.

What I wish was different

This is a year round internship for 20 hours a week. I wish during the summer I had a chance to go to 40 hours as that would have helped my learning greatly.

Advice

Always ask questions because usually the people you asking are more than willing to help!

Web Developer Intern

June - August 2017 • Cambridge, MA

What I liked

The level of responsibility they grant you, and the fun times (sailing in the bay, exploding kittens, dave and busters)! Also the flat structure of the organization allows for biweekly lunches between interns/coops and high-level executives including the founders (CEO and CTO). You can also schedule coffee with literally anyone in any department, in any position (if they have time), and learn more about their position, how they got there, what they do, and forge comnections!

What I wish was different

Expectations had been made clearer. More preparation had gone into my arrival and getting me set up.

Advice

Speak up, self advocate and self-start. Make it your own, and if you want something, go for it!

Operations Project Manager

June - September 2018 • Cambridge, MA

What I liked

I loved my team! They constantly made sure I was doing my best work and supported my goals 100%!

What I wish was different

I wish my internship lasted longer. 12 weeks was not enough!

Advice

In this position , my one piece of advice would to be adaptable to change! As a project manager, things are constantly shifting and you have to be able to think quick on your feet.
