I liked the team I worked with and the exposure I got to new languages and design styles. I also liked the structure of the project and opportunities I was given.

Communication Intern

What I liked
I liked the environment of an international, large-scale company. They had an emphasis on sustainability and healthy living through their work-life balance. The people were friendly and always willing to help or direct you to someone who can help.
What I wish was different
Nothing really; make summer longer!
Advice
With such a large company, with my networking skills I was able to meet so many people and connect with other professionals of different disciplines. My advice would be to utilize your network when you need help. I'm very independent so I thought I had to figure everything out on my own, but people are willing to help if you ask!

SSD Firmware Intern II
June - August 2019 • Longmont, CO
What I liked
My internship at Seagate was not what I expected it to be. I worked hands on as a part of a team of 15 people. I attended their triweekly meetings and was able to connect one on one with almost all of them. I did not have an assigned mentor but every team member was a mentor. I was assigned tasks writing production code for SSD firmware, and also lead a couple of presentations as well!
What I wish was different
Nothing!
Advice
Do your best to be apart of the group/team you are assigned to. Don't miss meetings, try to absorb as much information as you can about how to be a good coworker and a good member of the company.
