The Innocence Project

Data Analysis Intern

June - August 2021 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The small department allowed me to do one-on-one work with the head of the science and research department. I felt like I did meaningful work and was valued. They also made sure to include lots of educational opportunities based on what we wanted to learn about.

What I wish was different

I wish I had met more people outside of the department and learned more extensively about work that was being done on other sides of the company.

Advice

The company does inspiring and meaningful work and I think if you find that you mesh well with the people in the department, this would be a great place to intern.

What I liked

I loved being able to work on something with incredibly important effects for the people we worked for, and being able to meet and hear the stories of people who were falsely convicted and jailed for crimes they did not commit changed my entire worldview.
