Reactor Services Intern

June - August 2018 • Warrenville, IL

What I liked

Everyone was extremely helpful when I had questions or needed help with the projects that I was working on. I learned a lot from this internship and made a lot of connections with other interns and Exelon employees. My manager wanted us to have meaningful experiences while we were there, and he allowed us to travel to some of the nuclear plants to see things happening in person (such as dry cask storage).

What I wish was different

My technical and peer mentors were both located at a plant while I was at coorporate headquarters. This ended up not being too much of an issue, but there were a few times that they were difficult to get a hold of.

Advice

Anyone who is looking for a similar experience should take advantage of the opportunities that they get to expand their professional network.

Intern

June - August 2020 • Berwyn, PA

What I liked

I loved the company and how accommodating they were with Covid. They were so inviting and gave me many responsibilities. I was able to lead meetings with engineers and propose ideas for the region.

What I wish was different

I wish I had an in person experience, but working remotely was a great way to work and spend my summer down the shore!

Advice

Put yourself out there! Never be afraid to apply to anything. PECO normally hires Drexel students and I didn't think I would be qualified or even get hired but when I did I knew I wasn't going to stop there! Push yourself and always do your best, ask questions and YOU WILL LEARN!

Reliability Engineer

March - September 2021 • Philadelphia, PA

What I liked

The company culture and environmental. Everyone is willing and ready to help if you’re willing to learn and make the most of the internship.

What I wish was different

Wish I had more time to work of my project that I presented at the end of the internship because I could’ve gotten more specific than what I had shown in the day of presentation if I had reached out to other groups for help sooner.

Advice
